That Hair (“Esse cabelo”) by Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, translated into English by Eric M. B. Becker and published at Tin House, has been selected as a finalist for the PEN Translation Prize 2021. The novel was chosen from more than 1.850 book award submissions.
This year’s judges are Amanda Sarasien, Ana L. Méndez-Oliver, Jacqui Cornetta, Niloufar Talebi, Sevinç Türkkan, and Somrita Urni Ganguly. The virtual celebration will take place on 8 April.
