The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, through its Division of Cultures, Arts, Heritage and Public Diplomacy (DIRAC), has announced an open call for the Translation of Chilean Literature into German. This initiative seeks to promote both classical and contemporary Chilean works—including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays, drama, graphic narratives, and children's literature—in alignment with Chile’s foreign policy goals.
A key objective is to increase the visibility of Chilean literature in German-speaking countries ahead of Chile’s role as Guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2027.
The call is open exclusively to foreign publishers based in Austria, Switzerland, or Germany. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM (Chile Continental Time) on July 10, 2025.
