“Less Than One” by Patrícia Melo has been longlisted for the Grand Prix de littérature policière 2026 in the category of best translated novel. It was published in France by Buchet-Chastel and translated by Élodie Dupau.

Founded in 1948 by Maurice-Bernard Endrèbe, the Grand Prix de littérature policière honours two noir/crime novels each year, one in French and one in translation. Past winners in the category of translated novel include Patricia Highsmith, E.V. Cunningham, Mary Higgins Clark, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Elizabeth George, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Michael Connelly, Camilla Läckberg and Víctor del Árbol. Previous recipients of the Prize who are represented by MertinWitt are Eugenia Almeida and Boris Quercia.

This year’s winners will be announced on September 24th.
