We are excited to share that among the finalists for the Oceanos Prize 2026 are two of our authors:
In the prose category, one of six finalists is José Eduardo Agualusa‘s novel “All About God”, published by Quetzal in Portugal and by Tusquets in Brazil. In the poetry category, one of six finalists is Adriana Lisboa‘s “Before Naming the World”, published by Relicário in Brazil.
This year’s edition of the Oceanos Prize, one of the most important literary prizes in the Portuguese language, received 1,808 entries in the prose category and 1,278 in the poetry category, from writers of 13 different nationalities. Among the jury members responsible for selecting the finalists in the prose category was Carola Saavedra. The winners will be chosen by new international juries.
The winners will be announced on 11 December 2026 at the Itaú Cultural Center in São Paulo.
