Sergio Schmucler
WE ARE MOURNING THE DEATH OF OUR AUTHOR SERGIO SCHMUCLER, WHO PASSED AWAY ON 4TH NOVEMBER.
Sergio Schmucler, born in Córdoba, Argentina in 1959, went into exile to Mexico at the age of seventeen where he studied social anthropology and screenwriting. A tireless fighter for human rights, Schmucler was a relevant scriptwriter and novelist who lived between Mexico and Argentina since 2002. In 2001 he received the Ariel Award from the Mexican Academy of Film for the screenplay of Crónica de un desayuno.
We are thankful to have worked with Sergio for several years, sharing his works and dreams. The last time we saw him was in April 2019 during the International Book Fair of Buenos Aires, when Marea Editorial was launching his last novel La cabeza de Mariano Rosas.
