We are excited to announce that Eugenia Almeida has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Grand Prix de Littérature Policière in the category of Best Foreign Novel. She received this honour for the French translation of her novel Desarmadero, titled La Casse, published by Editions Métailié.
The Grand Prix de Littérature Policière, established in 1948, is the most distinguished prize for crime and detective fiction in France. The award is divided into two categories: French-language novels and foreign novels. Almeida now joins the ranks of legendary authors like Patricia Highsmith, Thomas Harris, P.D. James, Michael Connelly, Deon Meyer, Ian Rankin, Arnaldur Indriðason and Boris Quercia, among others.
Last year, the prize was awarded to Dennis Lehane, the acclaimed author of Mystic River.
