In July, works of four of our authors have been included in the Manifesto Library, a new joint project by global pop superstar Dua Lipa and Livraria Lello in Porto: Dulce Maria Cardoso (“The Return”), Lídia Jorge (“The Murmuring Coast”), Gonçalo M. Tavares (“Jerusalem”) and Richard Zimler (“The Last Kabbalist of Lisbon”).
Since June 2023, Dua Lipa’s Service95 Book Club has had monthly reads and regular video interviews with renowned authors such as Olga Tokarczuk, Margaret Atwood, Ocean Vuong, Roxane Gay, Percival Everett, Alana S Portero, Guadalupe Nettel, Patti Smith, Hernán Díaz, Khaled Hosseini and Rodrigo García (son of Gabriel García Márquez).
According to Lipa, the Manifesto Library is a permanent collection “dedicated to books that have disappeared, authors whose courage exposes structures of power and control, and readers who refuse to be told which books they can read.”
