After a strong competition Forgotten We’ll Be, an adaptation of Héctor Abad‘s acclaimed novel and memoir El olvido que seremos (Oblivion) wins the Goya Award 2021 for Best Ibero-American film. Antonio Banderas hosted the hybrid ceremony in Málaga. The film was directed by the Spanish Oscar-winning filmmaker Fernando Trueba. After twelve nominations, Colombia achieves its first Goya Award, the most important award in Spanish cinema.
