We are happy to announce that the prestigious French cultural magazine Transfuge has awarded the Brazilian writer Patrícia Melo the Transfuge Prize for Hispanic Literature 2026 for her novel “Menos que um”, translated into French by Buchet Chastel. As title, they chose “Ceux qui ne sont rien”, explaining “In this urban jungle at the heart of a deeply unequal country, there are the invisible ones, those who are nothing and yet are at the centre of everything. The heroes of this novel, as poetic as it is political, a true Brazilian version of Les Misérables.”

Among the former winners are Eugenia Almeida (2016), Horacio Castellanos Moya (2018), Leonardo Padura (2021), Camila Sosa Villada (2024) and Daniel Saldana (2025).
