Sergio Bizzio has been honored with the Merit Diploma in the 45th edition of the Konex Awards
The Konex Awards recognize individuals who are influential for future generations in Argentina. The awards have ten categories. This year, literature takes the spotlight, last awarded in 2014.
The Grand Jury has selected the top 100 figures of the past decade in Argentine Literature (2014-2023), choosing five from each of the 20 disciplines. Sergio Bizzio and Semanta Schweblin are two of five winners in the Short Stories category spanning 2014 to 2018, two of the five winners in the same category spanning 2019 to 2023 are Mariana Enriquez and Alejandra Kamiya.
The jury, comprising 20 distinguished figures, is chaired by María Teresa Andruetto (Platinum Konex Award 2014); its General Secretary is Hinde Pomeraniec (Platinum Konex Award 2017), and its Special Guest is José Emilio Burucúa (Brilliant Konex Award 2016).
The award ceremony is scheduled for September.
