Dulce Maria Cardoso //
Dulce Maria Cardoso has been awarded the Grand Prize for Chronicles and Literary Disperses by the Portuguese Writers’ Association (APE). She wins the Prize for her work “Unauthorised Autobiography 2” (“Autobiografia não Autorizada 2”), published at Tinta-da-China in 2023.
The jury commended Cardoso for “a collection of true chronicles that captivate the reader through the perfect blend of brevity and intensity in evocation and description.”
The award comes with a monetary value of 15,000 euros, and the jury was composed of personalities like Carlos Albino Guerreiro, Helena Carvalhão Buescu, and Salvato Teles de Menezes.
Previous awarded authors include José Tolentino Mendonça, Rui Cardoso Martins, Mário Cláudio, Pedro Mexia, Mário de Carvalho, Lídia Jorge, José Eduardo Agualusa, and Miguel Esteves Cardoso.
The prize ceremony will take place on 9th May in Loulé.
