Our author Patrícia Melo has been nominated for both the Prix Violeta Negra Occitanie 2024 and the Héroïne Madame Figaro Award 2024 for her novel “The Simple Art of Killing a Woman”, published in French by Buchet Chastel.
The jury of the Prix Violeta Negra Occitanie consists of booksellers, librarians, journalists, and members of Toulouse Polars du Sud. This year it will be chaired by Stéphane Thépot, a journalist and correspondent for national press outlets (Libération, Mediapart, Le Point, Le Monde, and others) in Toulouse and Occitania. The winning novel will be announced during the 16th edition of the Toulouse Polars du Sud Festival. For its part, the Héroïne Madame Figaro Award 2024 will be awarded in May at the Hôtel Raphael in Paris.
Also, Patrícia will attend the Salon du Livre in Genève, participating in several events, among them the panel ‘Literature and Sisterhood: Combating Violence Against Women’, scheduled for the Women’s Day on March 8th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM CET.
